10 Minute Daily Makeup Routine

With my life revolving around a toddler, its hard to say just how much time I’ll have in the morning to get myself together when my husband is at work. Even when I’m not going anywhere, I tend to have the same routine as far as my skin care and makeup go.

Gentle and clean products are my go to. I switched a lot of my skincare and makeup products to Beautycounter within the last year. They have definitely improved my skin which I could not be more happy about. Beautycounter’s mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. They are different because of how they source their ingredients, how they purposely ban thousands of harmful ingredients, and how they are completely transparent with their process. This allows for super gentle products which are great for all skin types. I use their Nourishing Cream Cleanser ($26) on a daily basis and their Nourishing Cream Exfoliator ($34) once a week. These leave my skin silky smooth.

Once my face is perfectly clean, I reach for my Beautycounter Nourishing Day Cream ($43) to lock in moisture. It has a super fresh feeling and is unscented. The cream formula contains a mix of organic coconut oil, safflower oil, and aloe to provide nourishing hydration, plus antioxidant-rich acai to protect against dry skin.

If I wake up yearning for a refreshing scent, I reach for my Lustro #1 Face Oil ($68) which smells of Calendula and leaves a luscious finish on my skin, which also locks in moisture. I dab about three drops onto my fingertips and massage it in. This specific blend is made up of rosehip oil, virgin grapeseed oil, sea buckthorn oil, virgin argan nut oil, marula oil, meadowfoam seed oil and rose otto oil. Unfortunately though, Beautycounter no longer offers this face oil, but does have this face oil

Right before applying my foundation, I swiftly apply a teeny bit of my Touchup Skin Concealer ($32) with Beautycounter’s easy to use brush applicator. I literally dab a little just under the eyes and any little red blemishes I may have – this takes a split second and works like a charm!

Although Beautycounter offers a Tint Skin Foundation ($41), my shade is Linen, I found that it wasn’t always as much coverage as I would like, even though you can totally layer it. Depending on how I feel I alternate between that as well as the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ($47) because it’s a little easier to layer and it lasts all day.

I fell in love with Anastasia’ Contour Kit ($40), in light to medium, a few months ago. I love how I have a setting powder, highlighting powder, plus three bronzer options all in one place to get the perfect contour.

Once I apply my bronzer in all the right places it’s time for lashes and brows. As far as mascara goes, I need something that isn’t clumpy, won’t rub off easy, and will last me my long day. For the longest time I was switching it up, but have recently grabbed the super affordable Sephora Outrageous Volume Mascara at only $12! It does the trick for me and I’m going to hang on to it for the upcoming warmer days to see if anything changes.

When thinking about my eyebrows, it honestly depends on how much time I have before my toddler yanks my pants off from pulling on them too hard. So this step is not an every day type of thing – but also not very time consuming. When I do go this extra step, I use Benefit Cosmetic Goof Proof Brow Pencil ($24), my shade is 03 medium.

The final step in my routine consists of a floral rose spray. This Nourishing Rosewater Mist ($35) is made with organic rose essence, purified water, and moisturizing sodium hyaluronate. It can be used as a toning spray at the start of your morning routine, or as a setting spray once your makeup is applied. It leaves me with a feeling of freshness as it tingles on my skin. What is awesome about it, is that it can be applied throughout the day when you do feel like your makeup isn’t as perfect as it was in the morning. Bonus points for the delicate rose scent.

Cheers to glowing skin!
